Weston-Super-Mare & District League Division 4; Berrow Reserves 8, East Worle Reserves 2.
|
Berrow went into this game looking to bounce back from last weeks awful defeat at Banwell.
They were strengthened by the return of ash Catlow, James Vickery, Jamie reddish, fit again Simon Baunton and old Berrow boy rich Lambert.
Berrow took the game to a young East Worle side and almost took the lead when Vickery volleyed Baunton flick on which forced a good save.
The break through came after numerous chances were wasted, when Vickery was upended in the box and he smashed in the penalty. This was quickly followed by his second as he latched onto a Guyatt clearance and scooped over the advancing keeper.
The 3rd was vintage Baunton as he sided stepped an attempted off-side trap to dribble through himself and round the keeper.
Baunton then turned provider as he put through young Ellis Harper for his first reserve goal.
East Worle got a goal back just before half time when Berrow failed to clear a corner.
Vickery had a golden chance for a hatrick straight from kick off in the second half but failed to hit the target. The 5th did come when a well timed reddish run met a Baunton corner.
The goal of the game came next as Lambert tackled an east Worle striker, played a one 2 with Baunton and raced clear to calmly place in the bottom right corner.
E W got another back before Baunton got his 2nd assisted by Ben Sinclair, who then hit the bar from 30 yards leading to a tap in for Affifi.
The result was marred by a red card in the last minute to Harper for a studs up challenge.
Berrow face a trip to America on sat to face South Park.
