Somerset County League Division 2 West; Berrow 4, Congresbury 1.
Berrow produced another fine home display Saturday against another of their promotion rivals.

They recalled Gary Prowse, Shaun Lismore and Dax Vincent to the starting line up and James Vickery was called up from the reserves.

Congresbury started the brighter of the 2 sides and took the lead when Prowse made an uncharacteristic slip to allow the visitors in form striker to add to his impressive tally of goals.

This slip only inspired Prowse to turn in his most impressive display to date.

He quickly made amends when closing down high up the field he gained possession and fed Keirle with a great through ball, Keirle once again showed his class with a clinical first time finish.

Prowse was once again in the thick of it, when a long hopeful ball over the top of the Berrow defence was met by their winger who was advancing into the box, Prowse appeared from nowhere to make a brilliant last ditch challenge.

He reprieved himself further still when he rose highest to meet a Ryan McErlain corner to give Berrow a half time lead.

Congresbury came out for the second half looking for a way back into the game, but were unable to break down the defensive wall of Lloyd Dean, Prowse, Shaun Lismore and Wayne Barrett, leaving Chris Warner very little to do apart from marshal the men in front of him.

Berrow finally made the break through when Keirle flicked Luke McErlains long throw on, the Congresbury keeper fumbled and Ryan McErlain, opportunistically, punished the error stabbing the ball over the line.

With the game effectively over Berrow introduced substitutes, Jack Shepherd, James Vickery and Ross Vickery.

Berrow completed the scoring with the goal of the game, a neat passage of play saw the ball squared for Luke McErlain to finish well from close range.

It was an important win for Berrow who have now stretched their lead at the top to 6 points, with results yet again going their way.

Man of the Match was Prowse for an outstanding performance.

Next up for Berrow is a tricky trip to Taunton based side Creech St Michael.

Warner, Shaun Lismore (R.Vickery), Prowse, Dean, Barrett, Scott Lismore (Shepherd), R.McErlain, L.McErlain, Vincent (J.Vickery), Read, Keirle.
